Okay, it sounds odd, but these are secondary raised little mats that sit on top of the rear mats to raise the front of your foot up.

Because the legroom is so large, you are likely to sit with your legs stretched out but your feet will still want to sit flat on the floor. These mats raise the front of your foot an inch, taking some pressure off your leg muscles and ankles.

A guy is selling them for £68.81 EACH on eBay in the U.K. or £95 on eBay from Germany. I got these for the postage cost of £4 from a Skoda forum member who had a spare set with his second Laurent & Klement Superb.

Vacuumed and shampoo’d rear mats (not bad for two years old).

Lounge mats tried out for looks.

I would put these in the back of a 911 just to mess with people.

These mats are a great idea, along with the rubber tunnel mat that stops the carpet from getting scuffed and damaged in the back from feet.

A very nice detail, I love it.

Trying zu convince my best friend to replace his Polo with an Octavia VRS or Superb instead of an A4.

The Polo is like an old Golf for size so an Octavia would be a closer match. The Octavia still has a proper handbrake, the Superb has a manual and auto button release. The sporty 2.0TSi Superb is auto only while the Octy has a manual option throughout the list.

The Audi A4 is for BMW wannabees. They go from sporty hatch (not ‘hot hatch’, just sporty hatch) to Audi A4 (saloon), then BMW 3 Series saloon, then coupe, then M3. It’s called the evolution of the a-hole.

Just got a Superb as a rental for the next couple of days. With the biggest diesel. And man, I get it now. Feels so much better to drive than the Octavias.

It’s not as fast as the Octavia, more, leisurely would be best to describe it. The rear legroom is it’s best feature, you can really spread out.

What spec did they give? SE, SE Business, SE L Exec...?

Oh I don’t even know? How can I tell?

The other question I have is about the Engine. According to the registration it’s the 190PS (140KW) 4x4 version. But according to Wikipedia they come with a 6 Speed DSG the rental has 7 though.. So Wikipedia is just wrong, right?

If it’s a 2.0TDi DSG 4x4 it’s an SE L Exec as the 4x4 isn’t an option for lower specs. If it was a higher spec such as a Sportline or the Laurent & Klement it would have a badge

Kinja'd!!!

The SE L Exec is the same as mine. Piglet being a manual rather than a auto.

The SE L Exec was a 6 speed DSG from launch in 2015 but changed in November of 2017 to a 7 speed DSG box.

No it doesn’t have any of those badges. It doesn’t have leather like yours either but something similar to alcantara. Does have adaptive cruise control ond that sort of thing though. No electric tailgate and electric but not cooled seats. Not how I’d spec one but still nice to drive.

That’s explains it, thanks for clearing that up. I t’s newer than 2017 and has only done 400km. But every bodypanel is damaged in some way or another and there’s a chip in the windscreen.. No idea how that’s even possible.

Asians probably

What country is it in? Some countries have slightly different specs.

Is there no boot release on the lower left of the gear shift? or button on the underside of the boot door on the right with the boot open?

That engine and 4x4 is SE L Exec and above which is Sportline or L&K, alcantara is Sportline spec (leather is standard on SE L Exec) and non electric boot is below SE L Exec such as S, SE and SE Business/Technology. Here in the U.K. anyway.

I hope your still enjoying the car.

It’s in Switzerland. No button for boot release and no button for closing it either.

Yeah really enjoying it. Drove like 150 Km on the Autobahn where I was surprised by the ride and really impressed with the adaptive cruise control. Never liked it in the Merc GL but works really well in the Skoda.

Tomorrow I’ll drive some mountain roads.. not sure what to expect since it’s rather heavy and on winter tires but we’ll see how it does.

Just looked at the Swiss site, their cars are named and configured differently to ours.

It’s a nice leisurely cruiser. The steering is very responsive for twists and turns like what we have in Cumbria, so you should be fine.

Handling and steering are indeed fine. But I’d choose a manual as well. Gearbox is a bit crap. It was just shifting around to much in corners and with not too much throttle. And because its a DSG it just suddenly lurches forward without me applying any more throttle. Not very nice in a tight corner.
